MODULAR SPACE TOYS : REDUX
This page will initially just contain test build sheets with minimum instructions.
Please be patient for other sheet arangements, this is a very big project and needs some careful atention to sheet layouts and naming conventions.
The test sheets will attempt to make use of as many new and unique parts as possible in order to minimize the test build phase.
If you wish to make your own sheets, please convert them back to RGB colour BEFORE you cut and paste.
Have fun.

Major Revision to sheet 18/11/2010. Final Version
Now allows you to make over 20 different models from this sheet - told you it was modular :)
The red flaps are optional, these are normally cut off for most models, but are there if you need to cut off the other flaps.
2 additional 'bulkheads' can be made from the 2 parts just underneath the cockpit.
These parts can also be used to increase the length of the ships together with the 2 additional square parts.
You want instructions? Where's the fun it that?

Test model 2
The sheet provides both (A)full 3D and (B)no-cal option parts. There is also a decal(C) for the rear of the engine module.
This sheet has been test built but is still subject to change.
Print at 150 dpi. All sheets will be 150dpi.

A note about the gluing sequence of the connectors and guns parts. If you glues the parts together off the model, the will most probably point in the wrong direction. Build the triangular hangers/gun mounts first, then glue on the parts shown in the image to the left. Align everything correctly and then glue the tubes on. For the connector tubes, the best sequence is to glue on all the triangular hangers first, then glue on all the parts shown in the image to the left, glue the tubes to one section first and use the other section to align the tubes as the glue dries, glue the tubes to the other section, and finally glue the parts shown on the left to the sides of the tubes. The parts shown on the left are simply to hold the tubes on more effectively by providing a greater glueing area. |
Test model 3
Note: The lander legs have changed, the initial test build of the original legs proved too difficult to build at this scale, I hope you like the changes. I will put the original legs in the junkyard section.
Print at 150 dpi. All sheets will be 150dpi.

This is an EXTRA general purpose sheet that will allow you to build a variety of 8 sided modules.
Note: The modules in the first 2 columns will require an internal structure if you wish to glue them to the standard square faces on the ends of other modules. This is quite easy to acheive by cutting an 8 sided side piece in half. You simply need to place an oblong box section in the center.

Standard Modules - General Sheet

|
Internal Structures + Basic Boxes - General Sheets
The white parts used for the internal structures are the same dimensions as the modules they are intended to fit, therefore care MUST be taken to allow for paper thickness when scoring the lines.
The box ends go inside the londer parts on the internal structure white parts, they are there to maintain it's shape, use the tabs attached to the longer parts for gluing internally.
Sorry about the sheets being a bit sparse, they are specialist sheets.

More Cabin sheets

10 more cabins on 5 sheets, plus an internal structure sheet for these cabins. These sheets are as yet unbuilt and untested, these sheets are subject to change. |

Some of the cabins require a former to maintain their shape, so these are for all the sheets. 2 for each cabin, just in case.

You should now be able to make 12 cabins, you already have the 2 in the center. |
Shield spacers V2

These are the changes I made to the shield spacers to make them easier to build. I will change the sheets that contain these parts when I have more time. |

Greenhouses and 6 sided modules

The greenhouses and 6 sided modules that allow you to make larger spacecraft. There are a number of different textures that can be applied to the Greenhouse modules, these will come at a later date. |
